Student Entrepreneurship
Introduction to Entrepreneurship Measure
In order to encourage and support entrepreneurship in schools, the MELS will continue to offer financial assistance to schools and colleges through the Introduction to Entrepreneurship Measure (IEM). The IEM has two components, one of which provides financial support for entrepreneurship projects by students that have been entered and accepted for the Québec Entrepreneurship Contest.
Only projects eligible for the Québec Entrepreneurship Contest may be considered for funding under the MELS Introduction to Entrepreneurship Measure. The eligibility rules are clearly defined in the MELS administrative guide for the IEM. A project may, however, be eligible for the Contest even if it does not meet the IEM eligibility requirements.
The local representatives for the Québec Entrepreneurship Contest are responsible for ensuring that all projects submitted to the MELS under the IEM comply with its administrative rules. Each project is then analyzed by the personnel responsible for the IEM at the MELS.
The Québec Entrepreneurship Contest and the Introduction to Entrepreneurship Measure are two distinct and autonomous entities. The awarding of financial assistance is solely the responsibility of the MELS and any decision concerning the payment of funds rests entirely with it. However, local representatives are invited to contact the Responsible of the IEM at the Québec Entrepreneurship Contest for all questions relating to the Measure.
